I love the idea of waking up in a different era, which is why I couldn't wait to write about time travel. Many agents have described my book as fantasy and science fiction but I don't see it like that. To me my book is about a beautiful love story set in the 19th century. I wouldn't go so far as to categorise it as 'Chick Lit', though I do hope chick lit fans would enjoy it. I wanted to give the 19th century a modern flavour, hence why I sent a 21st century woman back in time. I didn't want my main character talking in a 19th century dialect (though she speaks proper English...lol) because, to be quite frank, my brain couldn't take it!
