My journey. I started writing in January 2012. I was researching my family tree and visiting stately homes and an idea for a book came to me. I had never written before but threw myself into it. I had been feeling down for quite some time so writing became my way of forgetting my problems. I loved the freedom and excitement writing brought me. I began writing in the morning before work, during my lunch breaks, every free evening and weekend. I often woke up in the middle of the night needing to write something down, that's when I started to keep a note book by my bedside!

Ten reasons why I love writing......1. I get all my wildest fantasies and imagination out of my head and down on paper. 2. I'm learning more about the English language now than I ever did at school. 3. I get to live through my characters and pretend I have my own happy ever after. 4. I get to talk with like minded people and realise I'm not alone in my dreams of being a published writer. 5. It tak...es my mind off my own problems, my kind of therapy. 6. I'd love for people to get lost in my stories and the world's I'm trying to create. 7. It makes me happy. 8. It's opened me up to a whole new world of people who live in a fantasy most of the time. 9. I get so lost in my writing that the days and weeks fly by. 10. It opens me up to a possible new amazing career.

Last week was very up and down for me. One minute I was on top of the world and knew without a shadow of a doubt that I would be published and then the next I was so depressed believing everything I've ever written was total rubbish and no wonder I was never going to get published. Luckily I have now evened out and am still pushing myself to do better and keep writing. It has been and will be a long hard slog but I am determined to get there because it's all I ever want to do.

I know I'm a writer because....even though my back and neck aches, I continue writing.

I know I'm a writer because....I see the makings of a book in every situation and place I'm in and can't wait to write it down.

I know I'm a writer because....I stay up till the wee hours desperate to finish writing a chapter of my book.
